Mouth gag, Doyen
Accession #: 2008025
Description: For use with fully cooperative or anaesthetised patients. Of no use in an emergency for opening clenched jaws, as the blades cannot be insinuated between the teeth of a closed mouth. The short lengths of rubber tubing, generally added by nursing staff, accentuate their uselessness in an emergency situation. The blades often have a layer of lead to reduce damage to teeth.
