Rendell Baker Soucek Mask, Size 0.

Accession #: 2009105

Description: This mask was developed in the Cardiff Department of Anaesthetics in response to concerns for the large enclosed volume of contemporary designs that caused the infant to rebreathe significant proportion of exhaled gas. the design was formed after taking many facial mouldings. Solid rubber with a slight flange rim. This meant that some anaesthetists disliked using it because of the difficulty of obtaining a proper seal with the face and also because there was no space to accommodate the flange of a Guedel airway. It was commonly supplied for resuscitation purposes.
