Wooden fracture splints

Description: The longer splints in the picture. These would have been applied to the limb, one on either side of the fracture and the limb then bound with bandages. Used a s a first or secondary aid procedure.The second image is taken from a St John's Ambulance First Aid Chart which recommends using wooden battens from a venetian blind as a makeshift alternative.
